Xiaomi’s sub brand Redmi has entered a new category in India with the launch of the Redmi pad. Redmi Pad First Impressions – The Company has launched its first budget and Android tablet in India with the aim of offering an all-round experience. With a slightly delayed entry to the Indian market the Redmi pad faces competition from the likes of the Realme Pad, Moto Tab G62, Oppo Pad Air etc. The company claims that the Redmi Pad is the right choice for budget tablet buyers in India.

The Redmi Pad comes in three variants in India, starting with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The Redmi pad retail box is quite huge, suggesting that there should be a full set of access to these inside. Upon opening the box lead, you see the Redmi Pad covered with the sheet that lists some of the specifications of the tablet.

The Redmi Pad is also available in three colors. We have them in green variant, which comes with the matte finish. This should help hide fingerprints and smudges. If you want a more classic color, you can look at the moonlight silver or graphite gray colors. Adding to the looks is an all metal body with certainly gives the Redmi Pad a premium feel.

Moving on the box also packs some more stuff. You get a USB type-A to USB type-C charging cable, and a 22.5W fast charger in the box. Redmi has also included a SIM ejector too to help open the micro SD card.

Redmi Pad Design

Coming to the design, the Redmi Pad has a flat frame with the right side of the tablet having the micro SD card slot, a microphone, and the volume buttons.

The power button is on the corner of the top edge next to which are the two speaker cutouts. At the bottom is the USB type-C port sandwiched Between the other two speaker cutouts, we would’ve like seeing a 3.5 mm headphones Jack, considering this is a budget tablet, which is fairly thick at 7.05mm. On paper, the pad weighs about 465 grams, but actually feels a lot lighter when held.

The corners of the frame occur to ensure a comfortable grip when holding it horizontally or vertically. The rear panel sports are rectangular model, which houses the single 8 megapixel rear camera. Redmi Pad Experience

The Redmi pad also offers a 15:9 aspect ratio and for a better visual experience, it comes with Widevine L1 certification and support for a billion colors.
